Turkish Hospitality in the Heart of Skipton
Skipton is the kind of place that draws in visitors all year round – walkers, tourists, day-trippers and locals – and a restaurant like Efendy is perfectly positioned to welcome them all. I was asked to carry out a restaurant photography shoot to create a collection of images that would entice customers through the door: from warm, welcoming interiors to delicious dishes and happy diners.
Food Photography with a Portable Studio
Using my portable studio photography setup, I captured Efendy’s colourful dishes in a way that worked for both their website and social media. I used lights, props and a tethered laptop, so we could preview shots as we went – helping the owners select the best combinations of plating, backgrounds and lighting in real time. The result? Eye-catching restaurant photography with real appetite appeal that showcases the rich flavours of Turkish food.
Interior and Lifestyle Shots
Efendy is tastefully decorated with a mixture of textures, natural tones and thoughtful Turkish design touches. As part of the commercial photography brief, I captured the space in natural light where possible, carefully framing areas that highlight the restaurant’s charm and atmosphere. While I was there, I also asked a few friendly diners if they’d mind being in the photos – giving us authentic hospitality lifestyle photography with happy, relaxed customers.
Sunset Exterior Shots
Just as we wrapped, the sun started to dip behind the hills. I grabbed the opportunity to capture some stunning sunset photos of the restaurant exterior – the golden light adding a magical finishing touch to the shoot. These images are perfect for the homepage, Google listings, or a seasonal marketing campaign.
