I’ve just got back from a fun but wet trip to the Leeds West Indian Carnival 2014. I started at Potternewton Park where the music was being pumped out of every tent and the smells of food quickly had me buying jerk chicken, a dumpling, rice & peas – hmmm. NICE!
I saw all the outfits being paraded round the centre of the park and then each colourful group were introduced and set off on their trip around Leeds. The rain was fighting against my will to pull out my camera but when I finally got over to Chapeltown Road to see the Chapeltown Carnival on their return journey and saw the happy faces in their amazing outfits I just couldn’t resist. The fantastic music and crowds of happy people really made me smile and there were some ass shaking moves that would put Beyonce to shame.
