Freya and Anya’s mum, Charlotte, asked me to take some portrait photographs of her two children and her family. She had seen my fancy dress props and my backdrops from another shoot I attended and asked if it was possible to do this at her home in Leeds. The backdrop can only be used if there is enough space and the floor vinyl has to go down on a hard surface but Charlotte had the space and a wooden floor and being a Leeds based Portrait Photographer she wasn’t far away from me so we arranged a good time for us both. We didn’t need to use the backdrop as I could have found a suitable corner, sofa or area in the house (so long as the space was clutter free) however we discussed it prior to our appointment and Charlotte’s home was ideal for the photoshoot with the backdrop.
Getting the mini-studio ready took a little over half an hour as I needed to set up the area in her living room but once I had set up my backdrop, studio lights and camera then I was ready for her two year old twins. They came in and were at first a little shy but after giving them some fancy dress props they soon bounced into life and had a great time.
We then got Charlotte in some of the shots and then her nephew and sister who had to squeeze into the mini studio area but I was very pleased with the results.
Charlotte will now receive a full disk of about 200 professionally edited photographs with a select few being duplicated to have my professional filters (Hubble, Europa, Hightop and Horizon) applied to them. This select few will be converted for free and if Charlotte would like any of these filters applying to any of her other photographs then I can do that for a very minimal fee. These filters involve me carefully adjusting levels, exposures, contrast, tone and colour which can help convert the photographs to match a certain room’s decor or bring out an artistic look to your photograph.
